Back by popular demand, Michelle spoke with aspiring writers from Martin Luther King Elementary School in Toronto about what makes a character believable --both in print and in the movies. Reading selections from her scripts and from the students own stories, the seminar was an entertaining and fun-filled afternoon. But really, how can you go wrong with a roomful of 10-12 year olds and a pan of brownies?
Sci-fi short story published by Crowswing UK, Sept. 24. 2005:
Mission Rejected, one of Michelle Ponto's speculative fiction short stories, was chosen for an anthology with Crowswing Books in the UK. The anthology, contained short stories from award winning writers such as Michael Mirolla, and the 2002 British Fantasy Award winner for Best Anthology collection, Paul Finch.
Michelle Ponto appearing in writing documentary , April 2005:
Faisal Lodhi, a film student at Sheridan College, will be shooting a documentary featuring up and coming Canadian writers including Rachael Preston, Mary Jennifer Payne, Nancy Baker, Susan Helwig, Michelle Ponto, & Carrie Chesney amongst others. Shooting will begin later this Spring.
Contributing writer for children's book entitled, "Our Canadian Communities", January 2005:
Nelson Thomson is publishing a series of Social Studies books for the elementary market. Coming out in January 2005, the big book entitled, Our Canadian Communites, features Michelle as one of their contributing writers as well as a content reviewer.
