Portfolio: Contests

Ultimate Caption Contest:

Goal: Increase branding and client involvement with the product.
Secondary goal to drive people to the website.

Solution: Create a series of 'stereotypical IT' posters where the clients submit their captions to win a monthly prize. Posters had the company's logo and were inserted into the ComputerWorld print publication. They could also be downloaded online.

Promotion:

    • Print ads driving people to the site
    • Online banner ads
    • Web content and micro-site for contest
    • Text ads in newsletters with link to site

Results:

  • Thousands of posters were downloaded from the site
  • Hundreds of captions were submitted for each poster
  • In a focus group, one of the ways attendees said they knew us from the competition was that ComputerWorld was the one with the cool posters
  • Text ads and banner ads were the most clicked ads on the website during its promotion
